Since this is a frequent question we get from customers all over the World, here is a little guide about the parts you need to install a 240 or 250 tire on the rear of your Harley V-Rod, Night-Rod, Street-Rod and V-Rod Muscle.
First off, you will need a wider swingarm. We offer several styles of billet aluminum swingarms:
- Classic Swingarm Kit for V Rod’s
- Cut-Out Swingarm Kit for V-Rods
- Saber Swingarm Kit for V-Rods
- Billet Aluminum Swingarm Kit for V-Rod
For 2002-05 V-Rod’s we offer also an Extra Wide Swingarm, which is made of cast aluminum, like the OEM Harley-Davidson V-Rod swingarm, and is cheaper than the billet aluminum ones we offer. You will need to use a 1-1/8 inch or narrower belt: you can get yours cut or get a new narrower belt making sure you get one with the same number of teeth of the stock one.
For crazy projects we also offer a Single-Sided Swingarm Kit for V-Rods, which we believe is simply the coolest swingarm for V-Rods on the market! Kit includes billet aluminum swingarm, air ride suspension, .23 gallon (16 liters) gas tank and necessary mounting hardware.
Secondly, you will need to offset the front pulley, so the belt can run straight to the rear pulley. For this you can use our Front Offset Pulley for V Rod’s.
Of course you will need also a wider rear wheel. You can mount a 240 or 250 tire on an 18×8.5 or 18×9 rim.
If the budget is tight you can opt for our Blank Wheels for V-Rod’s, which feature a generic design and therefore will allow you to re-use the original Harley rear pulley and brake rotor.
If you are after a unique look you can check out our Cyclone Wheels for V-Rod’s, Bat Wheels for V-Rod’s, Magnum Wheels for V-Rod, Cobra Wheels for V-Rod’s, Titan Wheels for V-Rod’s, 3D Lowrider Wheels for V-Rod and 3D Open Mind Wheels for V-Rod. Matching front wheels, rear pulleys and brake discs are available to complete your project.
Of course you will need a 240 or 250 tire, which we do not offer, but you can get it online or at any motorcycle store near you.
Lastly, you will also need a wider rear fender to accommodate the wider wheel and tire. On early Harley V-Rod models that feature the black under-fender structure to support the actual rear fender you can trim the sides of it and the new 240 / 250 tire will then fit under the stock fender (we can provide instructions on how to do this properly).
For all other V-Rod’s, Night-Rod’s, Street-Rod’s and V-Rod Muscle’s we offer these solo seat fenders:
- Turbo Rear Fender for V-Rod’s
- Speed Demon Rear Fender for V-Rod’s
- Stealth Rear Fender for V-Rod’s
- Street Fighter Rear Fender for V-Rod’s
If you want something really unique that will make heads turn, you may want to check out our Stealth Body Kit for V Rods.
Please note all fenders we offer are for solo riders, you cannot carry a passenger on them!
This is to allow you to relax, at least when you are riding 😀

I have a 2005 cvo Harley-Davidson v-Rod and I would like to go to a 240 or 250 rear tire. Can you tell me exactly everything I need to do this and I would like to reuse my rear fender because it it has the CVO custom paint job on the bike cost doesn’t really matter I would just like it to look great and be right thank you.
Thank you for your interest in Eurocomponents’ wide tire swingarm kits for Harley V-Rod’s.
For a 240 / 250 tire conversion, you need one of these swingarms:

https://www.custom-motorcycle-parts.com/eurocomponents-custom-motorcycles-news/cut-out-swingarm-kit-for-v-rods-for-up-to-330-tires/

This last swingarm requires also cutting of stock belt to 1-1/8 inch width.
The stock CVO fender can be retained modifying the under-structure supporting the fender (see mounting instructions of the last swingarm).
You will also need this offset kit for the OEM pulley:
